Following the recent obtaining of the Ecostars hotel sustainability certificate by all its establishments, the Casual Hoteles thematic chain has continued its commitment to sustainability with the implementation of a pilot water ozonation project at the Casual del Teatro Madrid hotel.

Following the success of this test, the Valencian chain plans to install it in all its hotels within a maximum period of two months , something that has been valued very positively by the Hotel and Tourism Business Association of the Valencian Community ( HOSBEC ), a region in which Casual Hoteles has 7 of its 23 establishments .

According to the general secretary of Hosbec, Nuria Montes , “ HOSBEC, through its Health services, is very interested in the practical application of this technology from the company Eco Advance, which fits into the sustainability strategies for reducing waste and packaging for the hotel sector. For this reason, it will actively collaborate with Casual Hoteles and with all those associated establishments that implement this technology in the study of its practical uses, within the framework of health, food, water and occupational risk prevention regulations.”

For Juan Carlos Sanjuán , president of Casual Hoteles , “this initiative is part of our determined commitment to sustainability, and is the result of our obsession with promoting innovation within the hotel industry. Our goal is to always try to be up to date with technological advances such as this one, which allows us to offer a higher quality and safer product, while avoiding possible occupational risks for our employees thanks to the elimination of chemicals .”

What is water ozonation and what are its advantages in the hospitality industry?

Water ozonation is a system that disinfects 293 times more than bleach. Ozone disinfects water , which is then used to clean all types of areas and surfaces: from furniture, floors and windows in rooms to kitchens and bathrooms, among many other areas.

Apart from being ecological and not including additives of chemical origin, this system installed by the company Eco Advance in Casual Hoteles offers greater cleaning and disinfection advantages than traditional cleaning products . Not only do they guarantee the elimination of all types of bacteria and viruses on the surfaces where the ozonated water is applied, and prevent their eventual appearance for longer, but its use is also not harmful to the personnel who use it.

Furthermore, in the case of its use in the cleaning of common areas and rooms , it is possible to aromatize the ozonized water with natural essential oils , which make the result of its disinfection even more pleasant.
